Kuala Lumpur: Korea Republic have maintained their position as Asia’s top nation on the AFC Member Association Rankings whose latest edition was released recently.
Korea Republic have amassed a total of 92.94 points, while the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are second with 86.37 points, outperforming previously second-ranked Saudi Arabia, who are now third with 84.68 points. Islamic Republic of Iran are in fourth place with 79.62 points while Qatar are ranked fifth with 77.48 points.
Korea Republic have produced some phenomenal performances with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors beating compatriots FC Seoul for a spot in the AFC Champions League final. Jeonbuk will meet Al Ain of the UAE, with the winner to claim a place in the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2016 this December.

The UAE have now overtaken Saudi Arabia as the top-ranked nation in the West Zone following the latest rankings release.
In the East Zone, Japan and China PR have switched places, and now they are ranked second and third respectively, with only 1.2 points separating them.
