Kuala Lumpur: Ulsan Hyundai’s Kim In-sung has picked up the Toyota Player of the Week after a superb performance in Matchday Two of the 2017 AFC Champions League in which the 2012 continental champions swept aside Brisbane Roar 6-0 in Group E on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old Korean, who has previously represented former winners Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma and reigning champions Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, opened the scoring early on at Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium before adding his side’s fifth midway through the second half as the hosts responded in style to their 2-0 opening-day reversal to Kashima Antlers.
Kim’s first arrived on 10 minutes when the right-sided attacking midfielder drilled home from the edge of the box after Brisbane failed to clear Mislav Orsic’s cross from the left.
