Hong Kong: Reigning K League Classic champions FC Seoul are one of the four teams set to take part in the Lunar New Year Cup which will be held in Hong Kong later this month, it has been announced.
Seoul will be joined by two other 2017 AFC Champions League hopefuls in the shape of Muangthong United from Thailand and Hong Kong’s Kitchee, while Australia’s U23 side will complete the stellar line-up.
Head coach Hwang Sun-hong’s charges are scheduled to face the Australians on January 28, with Kitchee taking on Muangthong in the day’s later game.
The two winners will meet in the final on January 31.
Seoul and Muangthong have been drawn in Group F and E respectively for this year’s AFC Champions League, although Kitchee must win Play-offs against both Hanoi T&T and Jeju United if they are to appear alongside their Thai counterparts in Group E.
