Mazloumi was instrumental in Iran’s victory in the 1976 AFC Asian Cup scoring three goals in the campaign. He shared the top goalscorer accolade of the competition with his teammate Nasser Nouraei and runners-up Kuwait’s Fatehi Kamil. The former Esteghlal coach played for the Iran national side in 48 games and netted 37 goals, which was his country’s top goalscoring record for 12 years before it was broken by Ali Daei. He played for Sanat Naft Abadan for three years from 1965 and later had a seven-year stint with Esteghlal before moving to Shahin Tehran. Mazloumi played an influential role in Iran’s dominance of Asian football during his career.
