Kuching: The stage is set for the AFC Solidarity Cup 2016 which will kick off in the Malaysian city of Kuching on Wednesday.
Seven nations - Nepal, Brunei Darussalam, Timor-Leste, Sri Lanka, Macau, Mongolia, Laos – are vying for honours in the AFC’s new national team competition and are divided into two groups.
The top two teams in each group (four teams total) will advance to the semi-finals where the losers will play in a third-place play-off while the winners will battle it out in the final.
The group stages will kick off with a Group A match between Brunei Darussalam and Timor-Leste at 1930hrs (GMT+8) on Wednesday.
The semi-finals will take place on November 12, while the third-place play-off will be held on November 14, with the finale happening on November 15.
