Kuala Lumpur: The second leg of Pakistan’s 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019 AFC Asian Cup Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 1 tie with Yemen will now take place on Monday March 23 in Manama, Bahrain.
The rescheduled game will be played at the Khalifa Stadium and is set to kick-off at 18.30 local time.
The original tie was to be played last Tuesday but was subsequently postponed due to security concerns.
The decision came after bomb blasts and civil unrest in the Pakistani city, and following the AFC’s postponement of the Group B U-23 Championship qualifiers which were scheduled to be played at the same venue later this month.
Yemen currently lead 3-1 from the first leg thanks to goals from Abdulwasea Al Matari, Mohammed Boqshan and Ala Al Sasi. Hassan Bashir registered Pakistan’s goal from the penalty spot.
