Kuala Lumpur: The official draw for the AFC Asian Cup 2019 Qualifiers Play-off Round will be held at AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at 3pm (GMT+8), on April 7.
Eleven countries ranked 29th to 39th respectively after the 2018 FIFA World Cup/2019 AFC Asian Cup joint qualifiers - Tajikistan, Chinese Taipei, Maldives, Malaysia, Laos, India, Yemen, Timor Leste, Bangladesh, Cambodia and Bhutan - will battle it out in the AFC Asian Cup 2019 Qualifiers Play-offs, which will be played over two rounds, Play-off I and Play-off II.
The draw seedings of the teams will be based on the results of Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 2 and teams ranked 29th to 38th (total 10 teams) will participate in Qualifiers Play-off I, where they will be divided into five pairings and play home and away matches against each other.
The winner of each pairing (total five teams) will advance to the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 Qualifiers Final Round while the remaining five losing teams will join the team ranked 39th in Qualifiers Play-off II (total six teams).
In Qualifiers Play-off II, the six teams will form three pairings and play home and away matches against each other and the winner of each pairing (total three teams) will advance to Qualifiers Final Round.
Qualifiers Play-off I will be held over two legs on June 2 and 7 while Play-off 2 will be played also over two legs on September 6 and October 11.
