Kuala Lumpur: Romarinho has been named as the Toyota Player of the Week after the striker scored twice in Al Ittihad’s 4-3 victory over Zobahan on Monday to help his side advance to their first AFC Champions League quarter-finals since 2014 following a 6-4 aggregate win. With Al Ittihad already 2-1 up, the Brazilian showed a goalscorer’s instinct to tuck home from close in on 64 minutes to effectively kill the tie off, before he added his brace six minutes later by finishing off a neat team move. The 28-year-old’s goals came from four shots and three on target, while his passing accuracy was just under 85 percent as he earned a rating of 8.9. Romarinho, who will return to the quarter-finals for the first time since reaching the last eight with Qatar’s El Jaish in 2016, now has five goals to his name in the 2019 AFC Champions League.
