Makassar: Despite hosting their AFC Cup ties in Bogor, over 1,600 kilometres away from their regular stadium in South Sulawesi, PSM Makassar's faithful fans have ensured their colour and noise are present in their home away from home.

Travelling to see your local team play doesn't usually involve boats, cars and airplanes but for supporters of PSM Makassar in this year's AFC Cup, that's exactly what they've needed to do with the club's home ties being hosted at Pakansari Stadium, a two-and-a-half hour flight - or 10 hour ferry - and two hour drive away.

Mumbai: Minerva Punjab FC have added young talent Samuel Lalmuanpuia to their roster.

Minerva clinched their maiden I-League title in the 2017-18 season and secured the services of the midfielder from Meghalaya-based club Shillong Lajong, who were relegated following the conclusion of the I-League 2018-19 season on March 4.

“Minerva Punjab FC are delighted to announce the new loan signing of Samuel Lalmuanpuia from Lajong,” Minerva said on their Twitter handle.

Jakarta: Bruno Matos has taken on the mantle of goal-getter for Persija Jakarta in the absence of last year's leading scorer Marko Simic, and the Brazilian will be the main threat for the Indonesians when they face Ceres Negros on Wednesday.

In the 2018 AFC Cup campaign Croatian Simic netted eight times in the group stage alone, and without the frontman Persija struggled in attack in their 2019 opener at home to Vietnam's Becamex Binh Duong.

Cibinong: Despite PSM Makassar’s comprehensive 7-3 victory over Lao Toyota, captain Wiljan Pluim has bemoaned the fact the Indonesian side failed to score more goals in their 2019 AFC Cup Group H game on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old Dutchman drilled home the opening goal in the 12th minute, before curling in a lovely effort to make it 3-1 as the hour approached.

Teammates Zulham Zamrun, Eero Markkanen Ferdinand Sinaga and Marc Klok all also got on the scoresheet, but despite the dominant display, Pluim admitted he wasn’t satisfied Makassar didn’t add more goals to their tally.

Cibinong: A pair of braces from Wiljan Pluim and Eero Markkanen ensured Indonesia’s PSM Makassar scored their first win of this year’s AFC Cup with a thumping 7-3 win over Lao Toyota at the Pakansari Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

The home side made the perfect start to proceedings in their Group H encounter when Wiljan Pluim opened the scoring in just the 12th minute with a strong finish from just inside the area.

But no sooner had the celebrations in the stands died down than the visitors drew level. Kazuo Homma got on the end of a floated ball into the box and after getting the better of his two markers, fired off a shot that looped over Rivki Mokodompit thanks to a deflection from Aaron Evans.

Group H: Home United FC 1-1 PSM Makassar

Singapore: A second half thunderbolt from Hami Syahin salvaged a draw for reigning ASEAN Zonal champions Home United as they drew 1-1 in their opening Group H encounter against PSM Makassar on Wednesday night.

The Singaporean side made the final of the ASEAN Zone for the past two years, winning last year’s tie against Ceres Negros to advance to the Inter-zone semi-finals, and coming into this year’s campaign they once again have ambitions of going deep into the tournament.

It was the home side that started the brightest too, with Adam Swandi pouncing on an errant back pass to force a fine save out of Rivki Mokodompit.
