Kuala Lumpur: Australia and Vietnam kicked off their bids to qualify for the Finals of the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2019 with wins over Islamic Republic of Iran and Laos respectively in Group A while China PR sealed top spot after defeating Bangladesh 3-0 in Group B of the Qualifiers Round 2 on Sunday.

Vientiane: A resounding first half placed Australia in a commanding position against Iran at the National Stadium in Vientiane, Laos.
Australia were quick to get into the groove with forward Georgia Beaumont putting them ahead with her finish in the 20th minute.
Their lead was doubled 20 minutes later with defender Grace Taranto finding the back of the net.

Mandalay: China PR and Bangladesh sealed their places in the Finals after defeating Philippines and Myanmar respectively in the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2019 Qualifiers Round 2 Group B ties on Friday.
It was the second win for both teams and with Myanmar and Philippines without a point to show after two matches, China PR and Bangladesh are through and will meet on Sunday to decide the group winners.
Philippines 0-7 China PR
Zhang Hongyan’s four goals spurred China PR to a resounding 7-0 win over the Philippines at the Mandalar Thiri Stadium to give China PR their second straight victory.
China PR started with purpose and it only took them 11 minutes to find the back of the net courtesy of an own goal by Philippines’ Mikaela Villacin.

Kuala Lumpur: Bangladesh and China PR kicked their AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2019 Qualifiers Round 2 campaign in resounding fashion, defeating Philippines and Myanmar respectively in Group B ties on Wednesday.
Bangladesh 10-0 Philippines
Tohura Khatun struck four as Bangladesh, seeking to make it back-to-back qualification for the Finals, raced off the blocks with Khatun giving them the lead just two minutes into the match at the Mandalar Thiri Stadium in Mandalay, Myanmar.
Spurred by the early goal, Bangladesh continued to press and Khatun scored her second in the 17th minute and the lead was widened further just seconds later as Shamsunnahar added the South Asian side's third.

Buriram: Thailand stayed perfect to clinch the U-15 Women’s Youth Tournament 2018 title after beating Malta 2-0 in their final fixture at the Chang Arena on Thursday.
The four-nation tournament is a partnership between the Football Association of Thailand, AFC and UEFA, under the UEFA ASSIST programme, which is essentially to provide practical assistance and to offer support through development activities.
Host nation Thailand opened their tournament with a comprehensive 5-0 win over Singapore followed by a 3-0 result against Mongolia.
Emerging champions is a confidence booster for Thailand as they prepare to host the 2019 AFC U-16 Women’s Championship in September.
