Kuala Lumpur: Two late goals helped the United Arab Emirates record a 2-0 friendly win over Malaysia on Saturday as both sides concluded their preparations ahead of next week’s AFC U-19 Championship.
After a 1-1 draw between the two nations on Wednesday, the Emiratis struck first at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi when Ali Saleh Amro opened the scoring in the 71st minute.
With the game drawing to a close, Kelantan defender Syaiful Alias put through his own net on 89 minutes to compound Malaysia’s woes and hand the UAE a distinct boost ahead of their continental campaign in Indonesia.
