Kuala Lumpur: Eight teams discovered their opponents for the next phase of qualifying following the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship Thailand 2019 Qualifiers Round 2 official draw at AFC House on Wednesday.
For the final round of qualifiers, eight teams have been divided into two groups of four teams, with the group winners and runners-up joining host nation Thailand, reigning champions Japan, DPR Korea and China PR in the Finals in October.
Australia, who are aiming to return to the Finals after finishing fourth in the 2017 edition, will look to build on a strong performance in the previous round - one which saw them score 23 goals and concede none - when they go up against Uzbekistan, hosts Myanmar and Nepal, who are making their bid for a second AFC U-19 Women’s Championship Finals appearance, in Group A.
Meanwhile, in Group B, hosts Vietnam will welcome two-time champions Korea Republic, who have yet to miss an edition, as well as the Islamic Republic of Iran and Lebanon.
The Round 2 Qualifiers will be played over three matchdays from April 26 to 30.
