Nilai: Malaysia's Farahiyah Ridzuan landed the Top Scorer Award at the AFC Women’s Futsal Championship thanks to the seven goals she scored throughout the inaugural tournament held at Nilai Indoor Stadium.
The 21-year-old (pictured, centre) player scored three goals in hosts Malaysia’s 9-4 whipping of Uzbekistan in their campaign opener in the group stage, before adding two more to her tally in their 4-1 routing of Hong Kong.
The Malaysians lost their third group stage match against eventual winners Iran but not without their number seven notching both of her side's goals in the meeting to go clear at the top of the scoring charts.
Ridzuan was a substitute in Malaysia’s semi-final match against Japan where she came on after 25 minutes and later played the whole 40 minutes in their 3rd/4th place playoff against eventual third place winners Thailand, but failed to add to her tally.
