Kuala Lumpur: On October 22, 2015, the AFC Disciplinary Committee (Committee) held that the representative team of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) which participated in Group B of the AFC U-16 Championship India 2016 (Qualification) had fielded an ineligible player in all three of its group matches.
The decision of the Committee was provided to the ANFA on 23 October 2015.
The ineligibility occurred as a result of a player's MRI test revealing complete fusion of his radial bone. This deemed the player to be ineligible in accordance with Article 21 of the Competition Regulations.
The Committee ordered that ANFA pay a fine of USD14,500 and that the following matches are forfeited 3:0:
Nepal vs. Jordan (16 September 2015)
Kyrgyzstan vs Nepal (18 September 2015)
Nepal vs Oman (20 September 2015)
The Committee also warned the ANFA that, given this was the second such offence within the previous year, that any future failure to actively vet the age of its players participating in AFC youth competitions shall see it excluded from such competitions.
As a result of the decision of the Committee, Nepal is excluded from the AFC U-16 Championship India 2016. Oman and Kyrgyzstan qualify from Group B.
