New Delhi: The Japan Football Association has won the AFC Fair Play Association of the Year award as announced during the AFC Annual Awards 2015 gala in India on Sunday.
Japan accumulated 689.26 Fair Play points, the most points for a nation in the Confederation over the year.
The East Asians accrued 48.62 points more than runners-up China while Iran were third with 631.95 points.
Fair Play points are given to national and club teams participating in AFC competitions.
Points are awarded for positive play, conduct on and off the field and the behaviour of supporters at the stadium and deducted for the number of red and yellow cards received in a match.
Korea Republic was the winner of the AFC Fair Play Association award last year.
