Kuala Lumpur: The Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran Football Federation has been named the 2012 AFC Member Association of the Year.
The prestigious award is given to a Member Association in recognition of its professional administration and governance as well its exceptional contribution to the development and promotion of the game at all levels within their country.
Collecting the award on behalf of his association from AFC Vice President HRH Prince Abdullah Ibni Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, Iran Football Federation President Ali Kafashian said:
"This is the second time we have won the award and this shows how committed we are in developing our football.
"Our principle is work hard and wait for the result and the work we are doing back home will hopefully pay dividends with the national team. We are on the right track."
