Ulaanbaatar: Mongolia advanced to the 2019 East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) Cup Round 2 Qualifiers after finishing as the group winners in Round 1.
Mongolia opened their campaign with an impressive 4-1 win over Macau on Matchday One before beating Northern Mariana Island 9-0 in the following tie.
However, Guam proved to be their toughest challenge in their final match on Thursday as the deadlock continued well into the second half.
Karl Dennis Dodd’s Guam took the lead in the 89th minute but Norjmoo Tsedenbal’s goal in the dying embers of the match salvaged Mongolia a point and a place in the next round.
