Kuala Lumpur: Cities in Tajikistan, Thailand, Myanmar and Palestine will act as host venues for the first round of Asian qualifiers for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games women's football competition, set to begin next month.
The women's national teams of Tajikistan, Myanmar and Palestine will play host to their respective groups, while Chonburi, Thailand will be the neutral home base for Group B, which contains Islamic Republic of Iran, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates and Lebanon.
The four group winners and runners-up, and two best third-placed teams, will join Uzbekistan and Vietnam in the second round of qualifiers to be held next April, with the final eight teams - including Australia, China PR, DPR Korea, Korea Republic and Thailand - to compete in early 2020 for the two available slots at the Games.
As hosts of the Tokyo Olympics, 2018 AFC Women's Asian Cup winners Japan will qualify automatically for the 2020 Finals.
The first round of qualifying will begin on November 4, with the Tajikistan-based Group A kicking off the action, before the remaining groups begin four days later.
