Hanoi: Australia didn't put a foot wrong as they cruised to a 3-0 win over Hong Kong in their opening AFC U-19 Championship 2018 Qualifiers Group J match at the neutral venue of the National Youth Football Training Centre in Hanoi, Vietnam on Saturday.
They took the lead in the 11th minute through Ramy Najjarine (pictured above) and from there on, stayed ahead of Hong Kong.
Hong Kong did their best to find an equaliser but the Australian defence remained solid for the remainder of the first half.
The second saw more of the same but Australia put the game beyond doubt when Moudi Najjar converted from the penalty spot.
Hong Kong's resistance was finally broken in the 85th minute when Najjar again proved solid from the penalty spot.
DPR Korea are the third team in the group and they play Hong Kong on Monday before facing Australia on Wednesday.
