Amman: Jordan will take on Uzbekistan with the final place at the 2014 AFC Women’s Asian Cup at stake after the qualifying Group A hosts hammered Kuwait 21-0 on Friday.
Shahnaz Jebreen’s third-minute goal signalled the opening of the floodgates at the Amman International Stadium as Jordan found themselves 6-0 up at the 20 minute mark, with Maysa Jbarah netting a three-minute hat-trick (16th, 18th and 19th) punctuated by Stephanie Al Naber’s 17th minute strike, and Abeer Al Nahar getting the first of her six (20th).
Jbarah scored the next two goals (28th and 32nd) and completed her second hat-trick one minute into first-half stoppage-time after Al Naber (35th and 38th) and Al Nahar (43rd) had also added to their personal tallies as Jordan went into the interval with a 12-0 lead.
There was to no let up in the second half from the two-time West Asian Football Federation champions with all four first-half goal scorers on the mark after the interval.
Al Nahar took her individual total to six with four more goals (56th, 71st, 84th and 90+1) while Jbarah went two better, scoring her seventh and eighth in the 53rd and 81st minutes respectively.
