Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has reviewed the calculation method for the AFC Club Competitions Ranking 2021 & 2022 following the AFC Executive Committee’s decision to revise the format for the 2021 and 2022 seasons of the AFC Champions League and AFC Cup.
As a result of this, it was decided that an additional 1.5 AFC Champions League points or 0.5 AFC Cup points shall be given to each participating club that advances to each stage of the Knockout Stage due to it being a single-leg match.
Additionally, the maximum number of matches a participating club needs to play to become the AFC Cup 2021 champions differ per zone/group, while the maximum number of points an AFC Champions League participating club can obtain, without the additional qualification points, is fixed at 30 points out of 10 matches.
Similarly, this ratio is applied to the AFC Cup and points for each win and draw shall be adjusted accordingly, as shown below:
