Nam Dinh: Vietnam’s Nam Dinh booked their spot in the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 knockout stage after cruising 3-0 past Lee Man of Hong Kong in their Group G tie at the Thien Truong Stadium on Wednesday.

First half goals from Lucas Silva, To Van V and Rafaelson put the match beyond Lee Man’s reach as Nam Dinh moved to 11 points to confirm their spot with a match to spare.

They meet Bangkok United next week to decide the group winners, with the Thai side also having booked their ticket to the next round.

Wenzhou: Shanghai Port capped a dominant season after defeating Shandong Taishan 3-1 to clinch the 2024 Chinese FA Cup, becoming only the fourth club after Shandong Taishan, Dalian Shide and Guangzhou Evergrande to achieve the domestic double in the same season.

In Japan, Vissel Kobe beat Gamba Osaka in the final of the Emperor's Cup to stay on track for a domestic double as well while Ulsan HD saw off Suwon FC 4-2 to finish eight points ahead of second-placed Gangwon FC in Korea Republic.

International Friendlies Wrap: Hong Kong, China shine; Singapore involved in thrillers

Kuala Lumpur: Several nations were involved in friendlies during the international break with Hong Kong, China continued showing progress under new head coach Ashley Westwood after an impressive 3-1 win over Philippines.

Singapore were involved in two five-goal thrillers - winning one and losing the other, Thailand played to two draws while Malaysia defeated Laos before battling to a stalemate with India.

Kobe: Defending champions Vissel Kobe were held to a 1-1 draw by Tokyo Verdy but extended their lead in the J League 1 title race as second placed Sanfrecce Hiroshima suffered more agony in a 3-0 defeat to Urawa Red Diamonds.

In Korea Republic, Gangwon are eyeing a second place finish in the K League 1, while  Incheon United suffered relegation.

Hong Kong: Kaya FC-Iloilo secured their first AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 victory on Thursday despite Jovan Bedic’s sending off as penalties from Daizo Horikoshi and Robert Lopez Mendy earned the Filipinos a 2-1 win over Eastern at Mongkok Stadium in Group E.

Horikoshi had given Kaya the lead from the penalty spot in the 32nd minute but Bedic’s 69th minute expulsion for a second bookable offence unlocked the visiting defence for Eastern as Marcos Gondra struck the equaliser a minute later.

But a second penalty four minutes from time from Mendy ensured the points were claimed by Kaya and the result keeps the club’s slim hopes of securing a berth in the next round alive.

Group G - MD4: Bangkok United FC (THA) 4-1 Lee Man (HKG)

Pathum Thani: Two goals from Richairo Zivkovic and strikes from Wanchai Jarunongkran and Muhsen Al Ghassani saw Bangkok United FC complete a second-half comeback to win 4-1 over Hong Kong's Lee Man in Group G of the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 on Wednesday.

Samuel Rosa’s deflected effort four minutes before the interval had given the lead to the visitors, who were looking for their first win of the campaign, but Totchtawan Sripan’s side pulled clear after the interval to take the three points.

Victory moves Bangkok United onto 10 points from four games and to the verge of booking their place in December’s draw for the last 16 while the loss for Lee Man means the side from Hong Kong, China cannot advance.

Shanghai: Shanghai Port retained the Chinese Super League (CSL) title after defeating Tianjin Jinmen Tiger 5-0 to finish on 78 points from 30 games, one more than city rivals Shanghai Shenhua.

In Korea Republic, Ulsan became the third side to capture three straight K League domestic championships, joining Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.

Zarqa:  Islamic Republic of Iran defeated Jordan 4-2 in Group A of the Qualifiers to advance to the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Saudi Arabia 2025 Finals as one of the best five second-placed teams on Sunday.

With DPR Korea having already taken the top spot, Iran's qualification was thanks to Hong Kong, China edging Syria 2-1 in the group’s concluding tie.

Manila: Eastern of Hong Kong secured their first win in Group E of the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 after edging Philippines’ Kaya FC-Iloilo 2-1 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on Friday.

Kaya’s Kaishu Yamazaki cancelled out Marcos Gondra’s opener, before Noah Baffoe struck from distance to earn Eastern all three points.

Group G - MD3: Lee Man (HKG) 0-1 Bangkok United (THA)

Hong Kong: Bassel Jradi scored the only goal of the game as Bangkok United continued their unbeaten start in Group G of the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 on Thursday with a 1-0 win over Hong Kong Premier League champions Lee Man at Mongkok Stadium.

Jradi netted in the 28th minute to earn Totchtawan Sripan’s side a second win in three games and, having also drawn with Nam Dinh on Matchday Two, the Thai League 1 outfit sit on top of the standings at the halfway stage with seven points.

Lee Man, by contrast, have yet to pick up a point but were unfortunate to come away with nothing once more after an encouraging display in which Hong Kong, China international Everton Camargo hit the post in the first half.

Qualifiers - Group A: Jordan 1-2 Hong Kong, China; IR Iran 1-4 DPR Korea

Zarqa: Hong Kong, China stunned Jordan 2-1 in their AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Saudi Arabia 2025 Qualifiers Group A tie on Wednesday. 

DPR Korea, meanwhile, made it three wins out of three with a 4-1 defeat of Islamic Republic of Iran.
