Arkadag fight back to end East Bengal's dream

Arkadag: FC Arkadag came from behind to beat East Bengal 2-1 in their AFC Challenge League™ 2024/25 quarter-final second leg to advance to the semi-finals with a 3-1 aggregate win on Wednesday.

Messi Bouli drew East Bengal level on aggregate in the first minute before Lalchungnunga was sent off midway through the first half with Altymyrat Annadurdyyez then settling the tie with two late goals.

Mumbai: NorthEast United claimed the fifth spot in the Indian Super League playoffs, leaving Mumbai City and Odisha to battle it out for the final berth as the league wraps up this week.

There was no change in the Iran Pro League as Tractor FC and Sepahan continued their tussle for the top while the domestic leagues in Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyz Republic all kicked off with wins for their defending champions bar Turkmenistan’s FC Arkadag, whose match was postponed.

Kolkata: FC Arkadag carved out a hard-fought 1-0 win over India’s East Bengal in their AFC Challenge League™ 2024/25 quarter-final first leg tie at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium on Wednesday.

The Turkmenistan side, playing on the defensive for a large part of the match, will look to further block a more experienced Indian team when they meet in the second leg next week.
