Duran: Al Nassr can only get better

Riyadh: Jhon Duran is determined to play his part in taking Al Nassr Club all the way after the Colombian starred with two goals in their 3-1 win against Esteghal FC in the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25 Round of 16 on Monday.

Held to a goalless draw in last week’s first leg, Duran netted the first and third goals with Cristiano Ronaldo converting a penalty as Al Nassr matched last season’s feat of qualifying for the quarter-finals. 

It was a thoroughly convincing performance and Duran warned that Al Nassr will be a force in the quarter-finals.

Riyadh: Jhon Duran struck twice and Cristiano Ronaldo once as Al Nassr Club defeated Esteghlal FC 3-0 in the second leg of their AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25 Round of 16 tie at the King Saud University Stadium on Monday.

Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr - seeking to win the title for the first time - advanced 3-0 on aggregate and will know their quarter-final opponents in Monday’s draw.

Tehran: Al Nassr Club head coach Stefano Pioli expressed dismay over his team's inability to convert their chances in the tense 0-0 draw with Esteghlal FC in their AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25 Round of 16 first leg at the Azadi Stadium on Monday.

Despite missing Cristiano Ronaldo and Aymeric Laporte, Al Nassr dominated large spells of the match and created several clear-cut opportunities without converting, leaving the tie finely balanced with the return leg to be played next week.
