Iraq depth key to crucial victory over Oman, says Casas

Muscat: Iraq’s AFC Asian Qualifiers™ – Road to 26 campaign is back on track following a 1-0 win over Oman on Tuesday, with head coach Jesus Casas praising his team's improved performance.

Youssef Amyn’s first half strike moved Iraq to 11 points,three behind Group B leaders Korea Republic and two ahead of third-placed Jordan, having only claimed one point from their previous two matches.

The hard-fought victory in their AFC Asian Qualifiers™ – Road to 26 Group B match came courtesy of Muhsen Al Ghassani’s opportunistic winner in the 83rd minute with Jabar hoping that this will serve as a confidence booster for Oman in their remaining matches.

Muscat: Oman's Al Seeb completed their AFC Challenge League™ 2024/25 Group C campaign on a perfect note after a 3-0 win against Palestine's Hilal Alquds at the Al Seeb Stadium on Friday.

Al Seeb finished with three wins while Hilal Alquds waved farewell with two points in the bag.

Al Seeb will play Kuwait's Al Arabi SC in the West Zone quarter-finals while Turkmenistan's FC Arkadag and India's East Bengal will square off.
