Group D - MD6: Shabab Al Ahli (UAE) 3-2 PFC Nasaf (UZB)

Dubai: Sardar Azmoun scored two goals in two minutes to lead Shabab Al Ahli to a 3-2 win over Uzbekistan’s Nasaf in Dubai on Wednesday as the side from the United Arab Emirates claimed top spot in Group D of the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25.

Azmoun’s double came in the 32nd and 34th minutes after Nasaf’s Akmal Mosgovoy had struck in the 30th minute to cancel out Mateusao’s 23rd minute opener. Zoran Marusic was also on target for the visitors on the stroke of halftime in a goal-filled first period.

The win moves Shabab Al Ahli onto 13 points from their six games and confirms Paulo Sousa’s side as winners of the group while Nasaf finish bottom of the standings on four points and are eliminated.

Al Ain's Jardim rues missed opportunity; Pakhtakor leave Shatskykh upbeat

Tashkent: Head coach Leonardo Jardim was left counting the cost of the 1-1 draw between his Al Ain FC and Pakhtakor in the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25 which took qualification out of their hands.

Despite the second half improvements, Jardim felt his side didn’t compete sufficiently and with only two points collected thus far, the AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 winners are in danger of missing out on the knockout stage.

MD6: Pakhtakor (UZB) 1-1 Al Ain FC (UAE)

Tashkent: Reigning continental champions Al Ain continue to cling on to their hopes of a place in the knockout rounds of the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25 after Leonardo Jardim’s side earned a 1-1 draw with Pakhtakor despite playing the final 35 minutes in Tashkent with 10 men.

Soufiane Rahimi struck in the 49th minute to cancel out Otabek Jurakuziyev’s sixth minute opener before Yahia Nader was sent off for a dangerous tackle in the 55th minute to leave the holders short-handed.

The draw moves Al Ain onto two points and leaves the champions three adrift of eighth-placed Esteghlal in the west league standings with two matches remaining while Pakhtakor are one point further ahead of the side from the United Arab Emirates.

Qarshi: Head coach Nebojsa Jovovic was extremely proud of the grit and determination Kuwait SC showed in the 2-1 comeback win against PFC Nasaf in their AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 Group D match on Wednesday.

Jovovic saw his side being dominated in the first half but two goals in eight minutes in the opening minutes after the break turned the game in Kuwait SC’s favour.

The win was, however, in vain as Shabab Al Ahli’s 3-2 victory over Al Hussein sent both Kuwait SC and Nasaf out of the competition.

Qarshi: Kuwait SC came from behind to beat PFC Nasaf 2-1 in their AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 Group D match on Wednesday.

The win, however, was not enough for Kuwait SC after UAE's Shabab Al Ahli defeated Jordan's Al Hussein 3-2 in the later match, with both teams advancing to the knockout stage.

Stalemate disappointment for Esteghlal’s Mosimane, Pakhtakor’s Shatskykh

Dubai: Esteghlal FC’s Pitso Mosimane and Maksym Shatskykh of Pakhtakor were left counting the cost of a goalless draw following their AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25 match on Monday.

With only seven spots left after Al Ahli Saudi FC’s qualification, time is fast running out for both Mosimane and Shatskykh as they seek to navigate their respective sides into the knockout stage.
