Jafari credits Bam Khatoon resilience for historic win

Pathum Thani: Head coach Marziyeh Jafari praised Bam Khatoon’s resilience after they sealed a 2-1 win over Thailand’s College of Asian Scholars in their AFC Women’s Champions League 2024/25 Group B tie on Saturday.

The Iranian side's triumph was sealed in dramatic fashion with Zahra Ghanbari scoring the winner in the second minute of added time.

Urawa’s Kusunose eyeing another title; Taichung’s Lu demands more

Ho Chi Minh: Head coach Naoki Kusonose is dreaming big after his Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies completed their AFC Women's Champions League™ 2024/25 Group C campaign with maximum points.

An own goal from Chuong Thi Kieu in the first half and a Fuka Tsunoda strike six minutes into the second half paved the way for Urawa to achieve their third straight victory to finish top of the group.

Having already taken the team all the way in the AFC Women’s Club Championship™ 2023 title, Kusunose is targeting a successful run in this inaugural competition.

#AWCL knockout stage cast finalised

Kuala Lumpur: The inaugural AFC Women's Champions League™ 2024/25 moves to the next chapter after the completion of the group stage on Saturday confirmed the quarter-finalists.

The quarter-finals are scheduled to take place on March 22 and 23, 2025 with the four pairings determined by a knockout stage draw while the single leg semi-finals and final will be played in a centralised format from May 21 to 23, 2025.

Pathum Thani: Bam Khatoon FC of Islamic advanced to the AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2024/25 quarter-finals after a 2-1 win with Thailand’s College of Asian Scholars in their final Group B tie on Saturday.

The win secured the Iranian side  second spot behind Melbourne City FC of Australia.

Group C: Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies (JPN) 2-0 Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC (VIE)

Ho Chi Minh: Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies stayed perfect after defeating Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC of Vietnam 2-0 in their final AFC Women's Champions League™ 2024/25 Group C match on Saturday.

With three wins out of three with 21 goals scored and none conceded, Urawa marched into the knockout stage in ominous form while this was Ho Chi Minh City’s only blip as they finished second on six points.

Saitama: Height disadvantage was no barrier for Mei Shimada, who scored the winning goal in  Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies’ come-from-behind victory over Hyundai Steel Red Angels in the AFC Women's Club Championship™ final on Friday.

Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies were trailing by a goal following Lee So-hee’s 13th minute opener, before the home side switched tactics to level the tie through Kiko Seike’s volley in the 22nd minute with Shimada then nodding home the winner four minutes later.

Saitama: Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies came from behind to defeat  Hyundai Steel Red Angels 2-1 in the AFC Women's Club Championship™ final at the Urawa Komaba Stadium on Friday.

Urawa Red Diamonds’ Kiko Seike cancelled out Lee So-hee’s opener before Mei Shimada hit the winner to seal the win.

Kim’s tinkering takes Red Angels through

Tashkent: Head coach Kim Eun-sook said half-time changes paved the way for Korea Republic’s Hyundai Steel Red Angels FC to cruise to a 3-0 win against Sydney Football Club of Australia in the AFC Women's Club Championship™ 2023 on Sunday.

Tia N’Rehy put the Red Angels ahead going into the break before Kim rang in the changes with goals coming from Hong Hye-ji and Kim Hye-ri for the win and top spot in Group B.

The teams came into the tie level on six points but it was the Korea Republic side that came up tops after Kim identified the need to change her team’s tactics at half-time.

Hyundai Steel Red Angels seal Group B top spot

Tashkent: Korea Republic’s Hyundai Steel Red Angels FC claimed their ticket to the final of the AFC Women's Club Championship™ 2023 after securing a 3-0 win over Sydney FC of Australia to finish as the Group B winners.

Needing a win to qualify, Red Angels were at their clinical best in front of goal to set up a final meeting against Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies.
 
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan’s FC Nasaf and Bam Khatoon FC of Islamic Republic of Iran played to a 2-2 draw.

Urawa Red Ladies end campaign in perfect style

Chonburi: Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies finished their AFC Women's Club Championship™ 2023 Group A campaign in style after beating Hualien Women’s Football Team of Chinese Taipei 6-0 on Sunday.

The win meant that Urawa completed the group stage with a maximum nine points as they finished as the group winners, to go with a place in the final.
 
India’s Sree Gokulam Kerala FC, meanwhile,  ended their campaign on a high note after a come from behind 4-3 win against Bangkok FC of Thailand.

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC Women's Club Championship™ 2023 group stage enters the final matchday with all eyes on the showdown between Sydney FC of Australia and Korea Republic’s Hyundai Red Angels Women’s FC which will decide the finalists from Group B.

With Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies already qualified from Group A, it will be a matter of pride for the other teams in Sunday’s fixtures.
