AFC Champions League Final to be played in Doha, Qatar

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC), together with the Qatar Football Association (QFA), have today confirmed Doha, Qatar as the venue for this year’s AFC Champions League single-leg Final, which will be held on December 19, 2020.

With the successful conclusion of the AFC Champions League 2020 (West) in Qatar recently, as well as the upcoming preparations to host the East region matches next month, the AFC noted that the QFA met all the necessary hosting capability and capacity and medical infrastructure to host the Final of Asia’s premier club competition.

Persepolis' Khalilzadeh voted as winner of AFC Champions League 2020 Goal of the West

Kuala Lumpur: Shojae Khalilzadeh's effort for Persepolis FC against UAE's Sharjah has been voted as the AFC Champions League 2020 Goal of the West.

Khalilzadeh got the Islamic Republic of Iran champions on the road to a victory they needed to advance to the Round of 16 with his header as Persepolis scored a 4-0 win in their Matchday Six tie.

Shaheen Asmayee win fifth Afghan Premier League title

Kabul: Shaheen Asmayee reclaimed the Afghan Premier League title, beating Simogh Alborz 1-0 to become champions for a fifth time on Friday.

A first-half goal from Afghanistan international Fardin Hakimi proved decisive for Shaheen, who emerged victorious in the four-week tournament having been runners-up in 2018 and 2019.

The Kabul side went undefeated throughout the competition, winning four and drawing one of their five matches to reclaim the title of champions of Afghanistan.

Kalyani: Mohammedan Sporting made sure of their place in the 2020-21 I-League after defeating local rivals Bhawanipore FC on Friday — returning to the competition after a gap of seven years.
