Emanuel: Al Ain didn’t deserve to lose to Al Nassr

Al Ain: Al Ain FC head coach Pedro Emanuel said his side's AFC Champions League 2020 Group D 2-1 defeat to Al Nassr on Tuesday was undeserved. 

Omar Yaseen gave UAE's Al Ain the lead in the first half but Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr made a second-half comeback to level the tie through Mukhtar Ali before Abderazzak Hamdallah netted the winner 10 minutes before the end at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.

Al Ain: Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr FC came from behind to defeat UAE’s Al Ain 2-1 at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium on Matchday Two of the 2020 AFC Champions League Group D on Tuesday.

Al Nassr came into the game with a point to their name, having drawn with Al Sadd 2-2 in Riyadh, while Al Ain were hoping to put an end to their worst-ever run in the competition, having lost four consecutive matches, including a 4-0 defeat by Sepahan at home last week.

Doha: A terrific second half display helped Qatar’s Al Sadd SC climb to top spot of Group D with a 3-0 victory over Sepahan FC of Islamic Republic of Iran at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium on Tuesday.

A brace from Hassan Al Haydos followed Akram Afif’s 51st-minute opener, as Sepahan were brought back down to earth after last week’s stunning 4-0 success away to Al Ain.

Al Sadd’s handsome win takes them top of table on goal difference from Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr, while Sepahan slip to third with four group stage matches to play.

Buraidah: Al Taawoun FC stunned Qatari heavyweights Al Duhail SC 2-0 at King Abdullah Sport City Stadium on Matchday Two of the 2020 AFC Champions League Group C on Tuesday.

The Saudi side were looking to build on their opening day win over Sharjah as they hosted 2018 quarter-finalists Al Duhail who had yet to beat a Saudi team in the AFC Champions League.

Dubai: Head coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena had no complaints despite Shabab Al Ahli Dubai suffering a 2-1 defeat to defending champions Al Hilal SFC in Group B of the AFC Champions League 2020 at the Rashid Stadium on Monday.

The home side failed to hold on to their 24th minute lead through Youssef Jaber as a brace from Bafetimbi Gomis steered Al Hilal to their second win in the competition as Shabab Al Ahli suffered their second consecutive defeat.

Erbil: Head coach Aleksandar Ilic was left to rue Al Shorta's errors after their 1-0 defeat to Al Wahda FSCC in their AFC Champions League Group A tie at the Franso Hariri Stadium on Monday.

Al Shorta created several scoring chances but failed to beat Al Wahda custodian Mohammed Al Shamsi before Paul Jose M’Poku scored for the visitors two minutes from time to hand the Iraq club their first defeat of the competition.
