Group A - MD2: Al Ahli Saudi FC (KSA) 2-1 Esteghlal FC (IRN)

Kuwait City: A Salman Al Muwashar brace helped Al Ahli Saudi FC earn a 2-1 win over Esteghlal FC on Matchday Two of the 2020 AFC Champions League Group A on Monday.

Al Ahli entered the game led by interim boss Mazen Bahkali, after the club had earlier in the day announced the termination of manager Christian Gross’ contract on the back of poor results in the Saudi Pro League.

Al Ahli Saudi FC part ways with Gross

Jeddah: Saudi Arabia outfit Al Ahli Saudi FC announced on Monday that they have parted ways with Swiss coach Christian Gross, replacing him with Mazen Bahkali following the team's recent poor performances.

The Jeddah giants issued a statement just hours before their 2020 AFC Champions League Group A match against Islamic Republic of Iran's Esteghlal FC at the Jaber Al-Hamad International Stadium in Kuwait.

Tashkent: An Igor Sergeev brace and a late Sherzod Azamov header helped Pakhtakor brush aside Shahr Khodro FC 3-0 to record their second consecutive win in the 2020 AFC Champions League Group A on Monday.

Shahr Khodro came into their second-ever AFC Champions League game dreaming of collecting their first point or scoring their first goal in the group stage, but at the end of the 90 minutes, they would have neither as the home side added another three points to their haul after having opened their campaign with a 2-1 win over Shabab Al Ahli Dubai last week.

Dubai: A brace from Bafetimbi Gomis helped Al Hilal SFC come from behind to defeat Shabab Al Ahli Dubai 2-1 at the Rashid Stadium in Group B of the 2020 AFC Champions League on Monday.

The reigning champions had started their campaign with a home win against Shahr Khodro FC, while Shabab Al Ahli lost their opening game in Tashkent to Pakhtakor.
