Tashkent: A superb free-kick from Beijing FC’s Liang Showen denied United City FC of the Philippines a historic maiden AFC Champions League victory as the two sides played out a 1-1 draw at Bunyodkor Stadium on Saturday.

A memorable opening goal from captain Stephan Schröck had the Filipino side on course for three points in their opening Group I match, but a severely inexperienced Beijing earned a share of the spoils through Liang’s 73rd-minute strike.

Asian Qualifiers: A look back at Group A

Kuala Lumpur: With the draw for the final round of the AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road to Qatar set to be held on July 1, excitement is building as the 12 teams get set to learn their opponents.
