Saudi Arabia's Albrikan voted best Goal of the Group Stage

Bangkok: Feras Albrikan's match winner for Saudi Arabia against Syria has been named as the best goal of the AFC U23 Championship Thailand 2020 group stage.

Albrikan displayed tremendous composure as he back-heeled the ball into the back of the net as Saudi Arabia won the tie 1-0 to finish as Group B winners.

Saudi Arabia defeated hosts Thailand in the quarter-finals and are now set to face defending champions Uzbekistan in the last four on Wednesday.

Bangkok: Jordan head coach Ahmed Abu Ismail has hailed his players’ bravery after a last gasp Korea Republic goal condemned them to a 2-1 defeat in Sunday’s enthralling AFC U23 Championship Thailand 2020 quarter-final tie.

Trailing to Cho Gue-sung’s first-half effort, the Jordanians rallied superbly after the break and drew level with 15 minutes of the game remaining courtesy of substitute Yazan Al Naimat’s neat finish.
