AFC Women's Asian Cup India 2022 Qualifiers - Group E: Ji So-yun sets record as Korea Republic cruise past Mongolia

Tashkent: Korea Republic are halfway to the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022 after opening their qualifying campaign with a comprehensive 12-0 win over Mongolia in Group E at Pakhtakor Stadium on Friday.

The side ranked 18th in the world were far too strong for their inexperienced opponents, with Lee Geum-min and Moon Mi-ra both scoring hat-tricks in a match where Ji So-yun became the country’s all-time top scorer – man or woman – with her 59th international strike.

Colin Bell’s side are now in command of the three-team Group E, with another win against group hosts Uzbekistan next Thursday to confirm their place in the Finals for the 13th successive edition of the tournament.
