AFC Asian Qualifiers - Road to Qatar: Tomiyasu eager to help Japan get back on track

Doha: Takehiro Tomiyasu has vowed to play his part as Japan attempt to rebound from their opening AFC Asian Qualifiers - Road to Qatar defeat against Oman.

Heavy favourites going into Thursday's match on home soil, an 88th minute goal by Issam Al Sabhi secured Oman a famous win in their Group B tie at the Suita Stadium.

Japan, seeking to qualify for a seventh consecutive FIFA World Cup Finals, have the chance to quickly rebound when they play China PR in Doha on Tuesday and Tomiyasu is eager to be part of the action at the Khalifa International Stadium.

Doha: Australia boss Graham Arnold couldn’t hide his joy after watching his side surge to an emphatic 3-0 win over China PR in their AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road to Qatar clash at Khalifa International Stadium on Thursday.

Tested by an energetic Chinese side in the early stages, Australia went ahead through winger Awer Mabil in the 26th minute and never looked back, with Martin Boyle adding a second just two minutes later but before substitute Mitch Duke rounded out a comprehensive win with a third goal after half-time.
