ASEAN and East glean valuable expertise at key AFC medicine course

Bangkok: Insights and updates in Football Medicine were presented to 20 Member Associations (MAs) at the latest Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Football Emergency Medicine and Anti-Doping Course (ASEAN & East), which took place between November 23 and 26.

Hosted by The Football Association of Thailand (FA Thailand) in the Thai capital city of Bangkok, the event was the second leg of the regional AFC course that focused on the ASEAN and East regions of Asia after the first leg in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for West MAs in May 2024.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) launched a series of webinars on Tuesday to raise awareness on the latest advancements in sports medicine and anti-doping practices.

In the first instalment of the series, conducted in collaboration with Sportradar, the primary objective of the programme was to update participants on topics such as the 2025 World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List.

Dubai: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President’s Travelling Fellow for Football Medicine (APTTFM) concluded on November 7 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, marking the programme's third visit to the West Asian city.

The six-day programme saw participants from the Bhutan Football Federation, Pakistan Football Federation, and The Football Association of Thailand engage in a rigorous learning experience under the guidance of experts from the HMS FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence.

AFC Scientific Committee determined to stage best-ever AFC Medical Conference

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC Scientific Committee met in Kuala Lumpur today, setting the tone for the launch of the 8th AFC Medical Conference Kuala Lumpur 2025 on Wednesday. 

The first meeting of the committee took place virtually last year where the theme for the upcoming edition of the conference, “Medicine & Science: Navigating through changing times”, was finalised.
