Grassroots sessions continue with focus on school football 

Kuala Lumpur: Grassroots leaders in Asia gained valuable insights on how to promote football in schools in the latest Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) Technical Focus-Group Session on Tuesday.

Organised for Benchmarking Member Associations (MA), AFC Technical Director Andy Roxburgh opened the session by highlighting football’s role in the post-pandemic era and explained the different categories of grassroots football.

Kuala Lumpur: The significance of grassroots football was reinforced on Thursday at the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) Grassroots Global Session which saw more than 90 grassroots leaders gained invaluable insights.

Held virtually, the session was designed to provide grassroots managers with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and exchange the latest developments in the grassroots movement in Asia.

Surat Thani: The Football Association of Thailand (FA Thailand)’s commitment towards growing the passion for football continues to grow in strength and depth with the conclusion of the Surat Thani PAO (Provincial Authority Organization) Grassroots Football programme which has engaged over 600 children since its launch in February 2021.

The three-month series of activities is part of the FA Thailand’s strategy to partner with local stakeholders including the Surat Thani PAO, which is the largest Southern Province in Thailand, to further expand the reach of football by providing more opportunities and access to some of the most marginalised communities in the country.

Grassroots administrators benefit from CFA’s grassroots conference 

Beijing: The Chinese Football Association (CFA)’s commitment to enhance the development of grassroots football across the country was further strengthened on Monday following the conclusion of its annual Grassroots Conference 2021.

The CFA introduced a variety of grassroots activities such as the Football-for-All Tournaments, the “Dream China” Social Responsibility Programme, the AFC Grassroots Football Day as well as the establishment of an evaluation system for grassroots clubs and tournaments which will be launched in the coming months.

AFC Grassroots Charter maintains steady growth across the Continent

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Grassroots Panel approved the Mongolian Football Federation (MFF) as the latest Member Association (MA) to join the highly-acclaimed AFC Grassroots Charter in the Bronze category at its 11th meeting held online on Tuesday. 

The meeting commenced with the introduction of a new Panel representative Dylan Potter, the Competitions and Participation General Manager of Football Australia.

FFTL celebrates grassroots festival and awards ceremony

Dili: The Federacao Futebol Timor-Leste’s (FFTL) commitment to spread the joys of football to young players across the country was further reinforced through the organisation of a fun filled grassroots festival and awards ceremony. 

Launched by the FFTL Technical Department, a total of 100 boys and girls as well as 10 grassroots coaches from diverse districts, clubs and academies participated in the football games and friendly competitions.

BFA joins growing list of MAs to receive AFC Grassroots Charter membership

Manama: The Bahrain Football Association (BFA) has been awarded with the AFC Grassroots Charter Bronze membership for organising fun-filled grassroots initiatives and encouraging young children to play the sport.

By organising various activities as well as small-sided competitions for different age groups regularly, BFA has successfully increased and retained the participation of children in grassroots football.
