Li Ke joins Shenhua from Beijing

Shanghai: Shanghai Shenhua have added China PR international midfielder Li Ke to their squad ahead of the resumption of their AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25 campaign next month.

The England-born midfielder has signed for Leonid Slutsky’s side after five seasons with Beijing FC, who he joined from Brentford having starting his career with Premier League giants Arsenal.

Kuala Lumpur: Riyad Mahrez's strike for Al Ahli Saudi FC has been picked as the best goal of Matchday Two of the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25.

Mahrez garnered 54 percent of the votes to finish ahead of the other four contenders.

The Algerian advances to the semi-finals while voting is now open HERE for the East Zone's best goal of Matchday Two.

#ACLElite - Arif tops best goal of MD1 (East) poll

Kuala Lumpur: Arif Aiman's strike against China PR's Shanghai Port FC has been voted as the best goal of Matchday One of the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25 League Stage.

The Johor Darul Ta'zim winger received 38 percent of the votes to advance to the semi-finals.

Kuala Lumpur: The West Zone's cast for the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25 knockout stage had already began to take shape by the end of Matchday Six with five of the eight Round of 16 spots booked.

All berths, however, remain up for grabs in East Zone - setting the stage for exciting action when the continental showpiece resumes in February.

Persepolis part ways with Garrido

Tehran: Persepolis FC have parted company with Juan Carlos Garrido, the Spaniard leaving the Iran Pro League side after a disappointing run of form that has left the club fourth in the domestic standings.

The Tehran-based outfit have lost three of their last four league matches to sit five points behind leaders Tractor after 13 games of the current campaign. Assistants Karim Bagheri and Seyyed Jalal Hosseini will take charge on an interim basis.
