Abu Dhabi: Al Wahda will look to record their second win on the bounce in Group B of the 2018 AFC Champions League and move right back into contention for a place in the last 16 when they host Lokomotiv at Zayed Sports City Stadium on Tuesday.
Having lost their opening three games, the Emirati side defeated Zobahan 3-0 on Matchday Four after goals from Sebastian Tagliabue, Mourad Batna and Mohamed Al Akbari to move within three points of second place with two games remaining.
The Uzbek side ran out 5-0 winners when the pair met in the opening game of the group stage but have lost all three games since, including an agonising defeat three weeks ago when Al Duhail scored two stoppage-time goals to clinch a 2-1 victory in Tashkent.
Al Wahda go into the game on the back of a 2-1 UAE League Cup win over Al Wasl, while it will be Lokomotiv’s first game since mid-March as the Uzbek champions look to end what has been a miserable run.
There are a handful of suspensions for the crucial clash, though, as the trio of Salem Sultan, Mohammed Abdulbasit and Hungarian Balazs Dzsudzsak miss out for the hosts and Oleg Zoteev does likewise for the visitors.
