Hangzhou: Zhejiang FC produced a remarkable fightback to snatch a 4-2 win over Singapore's Lion City Sailors to revive their AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 knockout stage hopes on Thursday.

The result moved the Chinese side to six points, a point adrift of the second-placed Sailors with qualification to be decided on the final matchday next week.

Hong Kong: Sydney FC advanced to the knockout rounds of the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 on Thursday as Ufuk Talay’s side cruised to a 4-1 win over Hong Kong Premier League outfit Eastern at Mong Kok Stadium.

Anas Ouahim hit a hat-trick while Patryk Klimala was also on target to take the A-League outfit onto nine points from five games, with Sanfrecce Hiroshima's 1-1 draw with Kaya FC-Iloilo in the later game confirming their progress.

Ouahim and Klimaa struck in the fifth and 17th minutes respectively to give the visitors the perfect start with Ouahim hitting his side’s third in first half injury time. And while Noah Baffoe pulled one back in the 48th minute, Ouahim’s 62nd minute penalty sealed the win.

Manila: Kaya FC Iloilo’s slender hopes of advancing to the knockout rounds of the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 were extinguished on Thursday as a 1-1 draw with Sanfrecce Hiroshima in Manila eliminated the side from the Philippines and guaranteed Sydney FC’s progress.

Aren Inoue’s goal for the visitors in the 68th minute cancelled out Shuto Komaki’s 18th minute effort to deny Kaya the win they required to keep their fight for a place in the last 16 alive for another week.

The draw moves Hiroshima, who had already qualified ahead of Thursday’s game, onto 13 points while Kaya have four points, five adrift of Sydney FC, who now advance as a result of their 4-1 win over Hong Kong Premier League side Eastern earlier in the day.
