Kuala Lumpur: My Dinh Stadium is where Vietnamese Cup winners Than Quang Ninh will look to get their 2017 AFC Cup back on track against Home United this week and, as the national stadium for the Southeast Asian country, will also host Vietnam’s AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 home qualifying fixtures over the coming year.
With crucial matches to be played there in the months ahead, the-AFC.com continues its series of profiling Asia’s great grounds by taking a closer look at a venue that also hosted the second leg of the final of Vietnam’s victorious 2008 AFF Championship campaign.
Overview
The centerpiece of Vietnam’s National Sports Complex, My Dinh Stadium is a multi-purpose venue located ten kilometres west of central Hanoi. The stadium, which has a capacity of 40,192, opened in 2003 and was used in the 2007 AFC Asian Cup in Southeast Asia.
