Latest update on the AFC Cup 2022™ Group J

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has taken note of the Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA)’s decision to withdraw from hosting the AFC Cup 2022™ Group J matches, which were scheduled to take place in Tainan, Chinese Taipei. 

The AFC acknowledged the challenges caused by the evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic and the travel restrictions imposed as a result of the growing cases in Chinese Taipei.
 
Subsequently, the AFC has commenced the process of selecting a new host to stage the AFC Cup 2022™ Group J centralised matches, to be played from June 24 to 30, with further details of the new venue to be communicated in due course.
 
Group J will see East Zone clubs – MUST CPK of Macau, Hong Kong sides Eastern Long Lions and Lee Man as well as Chinese Taipei’s Tainan City FC battle for a place in the Inter-Zone Semi-Final.

AFC Cup 2022™ Group I to be held in Vietnam

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has today confirmed the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) as the host Member Association for the AFC Cup 2022™ Group I centralised matches scheduled to take place from June 24 to 30.

Ho Chi Minh City will provide the stage for Group I contenders Vietnam’s Viettel FC, Hougang United from Singapore, Phnom Penh Crown FC of Cambodia and Young Elephants FC from Laos.

Playoff: Williams hat-trick sends ATK Mohun Bagan through

Kolkata: India’s ATK Mohun Bagan surged to a 3-1 win over Abahani Limited Dhaka of Bangladesh in the AFC Cup™ 2022 Playoff on Tuesday. 

David Williams completed his hat-trick in the final five minutes to ensure the Kolkata-based club a second successive appearance in the tournament proper, where they will be joined by I-League champions Gokulam Kerala FC, Bangladesh winners Bashundhara Kings and Maldives' top side Maziya Sports & Recreation in Group D.

AFC Cup 2022™ Group Stage centralised venues confirmed

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has today confirmed the centralised venues for the AFC Cup 2022™ Group Stage, which is scheduled to be played in the West and South Zones from May 18 to 24, and in the ASEAN, Central and East Zones from June 24 to 30.

The AFC Cup 2022™ Group A matches will be held in Muscat, Oman, where three-time winners Kuwait SC will battle Lebanon’s Al Ansar as well as Al Seeb Club from Oman and Jableh of Syria.
