Mise: Luck favoured Arabi against Shabab Al Khalil

Kuwait City: Head coach Ante Mise admitted luck favoured his side after Arabi carved out a 1-0 win over Shabab Al Khalil in Group B of the AFC Cup™ 2022 on Saturday.

It was their second successive victory and Arabi will look to guarantee top spot in the table against Oman’s Dhofar FC on Matchday Three, while the eliminated Shabab Al Khalil will take on Bahrain’s Al Riffa.

Colaco dedicates hat-trick to ATK Mohun Bagan teammates, family

Kolkata: A delighted Liston Colaco paid tribute to his teammates and family after his hat-trick powered ATK Mohun Bagan to a commanding 4-0 win over Bashundhara Kings in Group D of the AFC Cup™ 2022 on Saturday.

Colaco struck in the 24th, 33rd and 53rd minutes with David Williams adding the fourth in the 77th as the Indian side bounced back from their 4-2 defeat to Gokulam Kerala FC on Matchday One to revive their hopes.

With Maziya Sports & Recreation defeating Gokulam Kerala 1-0 later on Saturday, all four teams are on three points heading into Matchday Three.

Muharraq: Player of the match Boukonta Sarr said Nejmeh shouldn’t dwell on their 2-0 victory over Palestine’s Hilal Al Quds in Group C of the AFC Cup™ 2022 on Saturday.

Sarr opened the scoring for Nejmeh in the second half before Ali Alaaeddine doubled their advantage in added time to hand the Lebanese club the first win of their campaign.

Nejmeh are on four points and lead the standings on goal difference ahead of Bahrain’s Al Riffa, who defeated Oman’s Dhofar Club 3-2 in Group C’s other Saturday fixture.

Kuwait City: Arabi SC confirmed at least a top two finish with their second win on the trot in the AFC Cup™ 2022 Group B, defeating Shabab Al Khalil of Palestine 1-0 at the Kuwait SC Stadium on Saturday.

With just one game left in Group B, Arabi will look to guarantee top spot in the table against Oman’s Dhofar FC on Matchday Three, while the eliminated Shabab Al Khalil will take on Bahrain’s Al Riffa.

Group B: Al Riffa pip Dhofar Club in thriller

Kuwait City: Dhofar FC almost came back against Al Riffa, but lost 3-2 on Matchday Two in Group B of the AFC Cup™ 2022 at the Kuwait SC Stadium on Saturday. 

Having lost their first game, Riffa went into the game with the three points as their target; and their fiery start to the game was a statement of intent on their part, although the momentum swiftly lessened after Dhofar fought back to save what could be saved, equalising midway through the second half before a penalty decided proceedings deep into injury time.
