Yangon: U Tin Maung Tun will be in charge of Yangon United FC for their 2019 AFC Cup Group F tie against Naga World FC at the Thuwunna Stadium on Wednesday following Myo Min Tun's resignation as head coach.

“Yangon United head coach Myo Min Tun has formally resigned from his duty today on May 13th, 2019,” the club said in a statement.
“On behalf of everyone at Yangon United, we would like to wish you all the success in the future and we very much appreciate the effort that you have put in at Yangon and will remember the excellent work you have done with us in the last couple of seasons.”

Dhaka: When Chennaiyin FC play Abahani Limited Dhaka in the 2019 AFC Cup on Wednesday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, it will be the first time they will be playing away from India.
But for Anirudh Thapa, this is no unfamiliar territory. Last year, the youngster got to wear the captain’s armband in Dhaka at the SAFF Cup when he became the youngest player to take that responsibility. While it was a dream come true for the Dehradun boy, the dream didn’t end as he would have desired when India lost to Maldives in the final.

Kuala Lumpur: Asian football history will be made on Wednesday when Japanese referee Yoshimi Yamashita alongside assistant referees Makoto Bozono and Naomi Teshirogi become the first all-female cast to officiate an AFC Cup match between Myanmar’s Yangon United FC and Naga World of Cambodia at the Thuwunna Stadium.
This will be the first time three female referees officiate in the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) club competitions, marking a new milestone in Asian refereeing.
The trio had to pass a demanding fitness test, matching the requirements for men officials before being selected and their appointment is a timely boost, as they are also part of 12 Asian match officials representing the AFC at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup France in June.

Hong Kong: Buoyed by making Hong Kong football history, Wofoo Tai Po captain Wong Wai believes his side can get a result from their 2019 AFC Cup tie against 4.25 SC in Pyongyang on Wednesday, after having recently sealed their first domestic league title.
No district team has won Hong Kong's top flight since the hazy days of the 1960s. Always the domain of big spenders or storied sides such as South China AA, Seiko, Happy Valley AA, Kitchee SC and Sun Hei, Yueng Long were the last district team to lift the title in 1963.
That is until Wofoo Tai Po's time came on May 4, when a 2-1 win away at R&F in Guangzhou secured the Hong Kong Premier League title with a match to spare. One major milestone achieved, and one more coming up swiftly with a visit to the DPR Korea capital and a date with defending AFC Cup East Zone champions 4.25 SC.
The-AFC.com spoke exclusively to Tai Po captain Wong Wai as he reflected on their recent success, AFC Cup experience so far and how they will look to continue their momentum in Pyongyang.

Muscat: Oman’s Al Suwaiq ended an 11-game winless run in the AFC Cup after defeating Kuwait’s Qadsia SC 2-1 at Al Seeb Stadium on Matchday Six of Group C on Monday.
The 2014 AFC Cup winners, Qadsia, needed a win in their final group game to secure second place and stand a chance of competing for the best runners-up ticket to the next round, whereas Al Suwaiq had already been eliminated from the competition.
Goalkeeper Hamad Al Khalidi was tested early on, when the Qadsia defence struggled to clear the ball away following a set-piece and Tiago Lopes tried to poke in from close range, but the Kuwaiti goalkeeper was well positioned and made the save.
