Juric applauds Sydney’s tactical flexibility

Tashkent: Head coach Ante Juric was full of praise for Sydney FC’s adaptability following their 3-0 win over Islamic Republic of Iran’s Bam Khatoon FC in Group B of the AFC Women's Club Championship™ 2023 at the Jar Stadium on Monday.

Fiona Worts scored twice while Aideen Keane added the third as Sydney FC dominated from start to finish to set the early pace in Group B.

Triumphant start pleases Bangkok’s Kumvongdee

Chonburi: Panupun Kumvongdee took plenty of positives from Bangkok FC’s 2-0 win over Hualien Women’s Football Team in their opening AFC Women's Club Championship™ 2023 Group A clash on Monday.

The Thai head coach is hopeful that the result against the Chinese Taipei side instills more confidence in his team ahead of the upcoming challenges in the group.

Sydney FC took a 2-0 lead going into the break as they kicked off their campaign on a positive note.

Tashkent: Korea Republic’s Hyundai Steel Red Angels Women’s FC defeated FC Nasaf of Uzbekistan 2-0 in their AFC Women's Club Championship™ 2023 Group B opener on Monday.

The result meant Hyundai Steel Red Angels kept pace with Australia’s Sydney FC, who defeated Islamic Republic of Iran’s Bam Khatoon 3-0 earlier on Monday.

Chonburi: Thailand’s Bangkok FC made full use of home advantage to beat Hualien Women’s Football Team of Chinese Taipei 2-0 in their AFC Women's Club Championship™ 2023 Group A match on Monday.

The Thai champions joined Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies on three points with the Japanese side having opened their campaign with an emphatic 8-0 win over India's Sree Gokulam Kerala FC.

Chonburi: Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies kickstarted  their AFC Women's Club Championship™ 2023 campaign in style after defeating Sree Gokulam Kerala FC of India 8-0 on Monday.

Three first half strikes gave Urawa Red Ladies a great start in the match, and despite defensive improvements shown by Gokulam in the second half, were still able to add to their tally as they secured an impressive opening win in Group A.

Tehran: Sepahan sent out a warning to their opponents in the AFC Champions League™ 2023-24 on Monday as Jose Morais’ side handed AGMK from Uzbekistan a 9-0 demolition at Tehran’s Azadi Stadium to enhance their hopes of progressing to the last 16.

Eight of Sepahan’s goals came in a ruthless second half performance from the hosts, who faced 10 men for the final quarter of the game following Akramjon Kolimov’s expulsion for a direct red card offence.
 
The win moves Sepahan onto seven points from their four games in Group C so far, two behind leaders Al Ittihad from Saudi Arabia and level with Air Force Club of Iraq with only two rounds remaining.

Amman: Jordan’s Al Faisaly recorded their first-ever win in the AFC Champions League™, defeating Qatar’s Al Sadd 2-0 at the Amman International Stadium in Group B of the 2023/24 edition on Monday.

Al Sadd had ran riot in the reverse fixture, winning 6-0 in Doha, but the Jordanians were determined to get one back.

Navi Mumbai: Second half goals from Michael and Aleksandar Mitrovic secured Al Hilal SFC a 2-0 win over 10-man Mumbai City on Monday to move the Saudi Pro League side to the verge of qualifying for the knockout rounds of the AFC Champions League™ 2023-24.

Michael’s 62nd minute header came after Mehtab Singh was sent off for a second bookable offence eight minutes earlier as the hosts’ stubborn resistance was finally broken by the four-time continental champions. Mitrovic headed in the second five minutes from time.
 
Al Hilal move on to 10 points from their first four games in Group D while Mumbai are bottom without a point.
