Doha: The FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 got off to a spectacular start on Tuesday with all 16 teams having now opened their campaigns.

Serving as a preview to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in less than a year, the tournament has already seen its fair share of surprises.

Jordan stun Saudi Arabia, Morocco power past Palestine

Doha: Jordan surprised Saudi Arabia with a 1-0 win, while Palestine had to concede to Morocco's superiority as the West Asian side fell to a 4-0 defeat in the opening FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 Group C ties on Wednesday.

An own goal by Saudi Arabia defender Khalifah Al Dawsari put Jordan on their way to a vital three points at the Education City Stadium.
 
Meanwhile, Morocco turned on the power in the second half, adding three goals after the break as they kicked off their campaign emphatically.

Doha: Egypt edged Lebanon 1-0 in Group D of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 at the Al Thumama Stadium on Wednesday.

The defeat leaves Lebanon with much to do if they are to advance to the quarter-finals with Algeria taking the early lead in Group D after defeating Sudan 4-0.

FIFA Women's World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 match schedule finalised

Sydney: The much anticipated FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 has been confirmed.

FIFA announced the 64-fixture match schedule which will feature 32-teams for the first time in the tournament jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand. 

A total 35 of the 64 matches, including 11 of 16 knockout stage matches, will be played in Australia.
