Malaysia beat Solomon Islands; Pakistan edged by Kenya

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia came from behind to defeat Solomon Islands 4-1 in an international friendly at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium in Kuala Terengganu on Wednesday.

Pakistan, meanwhile, suffered a 1-0 defeat to Kenya in a Four-Nationa tournament in Mauritius.

Eldor Shomurodov breaks Uzbekistan scoring record

Tashkent: Uzbekistan captain Eldor Shomurodov wrote his name on his nation’s history books on Wednesday, becoming the White Wolves’ all-time top scorer with 36 goals.

The 27-year-old scored both goals at Bunyodkor Stadium as Uzbekistan defeated Turkmenistan 2-0 in Group A of the inaugural CAFA Nations Cup, taking his international tally to 36 goals, two ahead of the previous record holder Maxim Shatskikh who had scored his 34 goals in 61 caps between 1999 and 2014.
