Kuala Lumpur: The programme for the 4th AFC Conference 2011 has been lined up promising in-depth and latest developments in science and football medicine.
To be held from 18 to 20 March at the Berjaya Times Square here in Malaysia’s capital, the conference will feature nine symposiums and nine lectures touching on various aspects of football and sports medicine.
The lectures will delve into such topics as Scientific Updates on Genetics and Performance, Applied Science, Applied Physiology, Prevention and Management of Cardiac Emergencies, Sports Nutrition, Muscle Injuries Rehabilitation, Actual/Potential Spinal Injury, Immobilisation, Prevention and Medical Management of Football Multi-Casualty Incidents/Disasters and Football an Ideal Exercise to Improve Physical Fitness.
The symposiums will cover the following topics – Science and Performance, Orhtopaedic and Traumatology, Grassroots and Youth, Sports Radiology, Fitness/PCMA/Eleven+, Sports Supplementation/Traditional Therapy, World Anti-Doping Agency and Doping in Football, PRP - The Future as well as Performance and Medical Condition.
A workshop will be carried out at the Kuala Lumpur Sports Medicine Centre in which concurrent sessions will be held on topics such as Clinical Application of Stem Cells, Articular Cartilage Regeneration with Stem Cells, Current Updates on Hyaluronic Acid on Joint Pathology and others.
More than 400 delegates will meet at the conference that will feature 10 world-renowned figures in sports medicine and health sciences.
