Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Youth Panel pledged to continue the promotion and development of Elite Youth Football in Asia following their seventh meeting at the AFC House in the Malaysian capital on Thursday.
The 14-member panel and AFC Technical Director Andy Roxburgh, who led the meeting, discussed a range of key topics focusing on developing young players in Asia.
“This panel is responsible for elite youth development for boys and girls. If you don’t promote youth football, teams won’t make it at the top level. Qatar is a good example as Felix Sanchez their national coach was involved in the youth development and as you know, they won the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019,” said Roxburgh.
