Al Romaihi strikes twice as Bahrain edge UAE

Dubai: A second half brace from Mohammed Al Romaihi helped Bahrain secure a come-from-behind 3-1 win against UAE in an international friendly at Zabeel Stadium on Monday.

It was the third consecutive win for Bahrain during their Dubai training camp, having defeated Tajikistan and Lebanon 1-0 and 3-1 respectively.

UAE, meanwhile, failed to build on their 3-2 win over Tajikistan last Thursday.

Seoul: Korea Republic are all set to play Qatar in Austria on Tuesday despite finding a new COVID-19 coronavirus case among their contingent, bringing the total to eight.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Son Heung-min and the rest of the Korea squad had already been confined to their Vienna hotel rooms, when not training, after six players and a staff member tested positive.

But a new round of test results, released on Monday, found no additional players and only one more staffer was positive, meaning Korea have more than the minimum requirement of 13 players available.

Beijing: Injury ruled Zhang Yuning out of Beijing FC’s opening win over Chiangrai United in the 2020 AFC Champions League earlier this year, but the China PR international is now firing on all cylinders and is hoping to steer his side into the knockout rounds of the continental club championship.
