Nay Pyi Taw: The Philippines gained an emphatic 4-0 win over Brunei Darussalam in their AFC U-14 Championship 2014 Group E qualifying opener at the Wunna Theik Stadium in Myanmar on Tuesday.
The 60-minute match went into half time heavily lopsided with the Filipino boys leading at 3-0 before securing the winning goal in stoppage time.
Eventual player of the match and striker Kobe Joseph Quizon Stuart Del Rosario virtually scored all the three goals in the first half bulging the Bruneians’ net on 12, 18 and 30 minutes.
The second half proceed as if it was to conclude goalless until midfielder Fidel Victor Palogan Tacardon gave the Filipinos last-minute joy as he found Brunei’s net two minutes into stoppage time.
Yussof bin Abdul Rashid’s Brunei side will be playing Vietnam on Wednesday while the Eliezer Obias Fabroada-led Philippines are up against hosts Myanmar.
